Environmental Education
One Hour Programs
Experience the natural world
with one of the nature center's
indoor, one hour environmental
programs.  Visit the nature
center to enjoy the program, or
have the nature center staff
bring the program to your
location.

Birds of Prey
Visit with some live predators  in
person. Meet  birds of prey and
learn about the adaptations of
eagles, owls, vultures, hawks and
falcons.

Flying Tigers: Kansas Owls
View these silent-flying, night time
predators up close and learn how
they live and hunt.

Fur, Feathers & Scales
Explore how animals dress to
protect and camouflage
themselves, fly and keep dry.
Learn how the outside of each
animal is uniquely adapted to it’s
special lifestyle.

The Untouchables
Give a few misunderstood
animals a chance to show off the
special characteristics that make
them unique.  A snake, an
opossum, a spider and other
unlovable animals will try to make
a good impression on your
students.

The Wildlife of Kansas
Meet live Kansas animals
representing the different habitats
of our state. Learn how these
animals are adapted to live in
prairies, wetlands and woodlands
of Kansas.

In Cold Blood-The Herps
* new
Not so warm and fuzzy, but just as
interesting, meet the slimy, scaly
and slithering  members of the
herps: frogs, toads,  salamanders,
turtles, snakes and lizards.
